Concerts at the Pier, Presented by TD Ready Commitment

     White Rock’s favourite concert series, Concerts at the Pier presented by TD Ready Commitment is back for 2024 with yet another sensational line up!  

Set against the picturesque backdrop of White Rock beach, this FREE, outdoor concert series will be taking place over FIVE fabulous nights in July and August. 

Concert-goers are encouraged to make reservations or order take out at one of White Rock’s amazing restaurants, as well to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the show.

About the artist: Over the course of 40+ years of performing and recording, 54•40 has not only made their mark on the Canadian music industry, but the entire cultural landscape. Led by chief songwriter Neil Osborne, 54•40 has carved out a legacy of gold and platinum albums and an outstanding reputation for their live performances that carries through to this day. With decades of hit songs and more in the making, the secret to 54•40’s longevity is their ability to redefine and reinvent themselves.

About the artist: Juno Award-winning powerhouse Crystal Shawanda is back with her latest studio album, Midnight Blues, on True North Records. Her latest fiery blues collection showcases her full-throttle raspy voice, unmatched in today’s musical landscape, and an authentic appreciation for the genre dating back to her youth. Born in Wiikwemkoong First Nation, on Manitoulin Island, in Northern Ontario, Crystal was introduced to the blues by her eldest brother and to old-time country by her parents. “I was also into other styles of music that led me to the blues,” she says, citing everything from Elvis Presley’s “Hound Dog,” written by Big Mama Thornton, to R&B-pop star Monica’s “Misty Blue,” by Dorothy Moore.

About the artists:

ARRIVAL, Canada’s Tribute to ABBA, is an authentic sounding, six piece tribute to Abba. They perform in full costumes, similar to the actual styles worn by the original Abba. You will be amazed at how close Arrival-Canada’s tribute to Abba looks and sounds like the original Abba. They take you back in time, so you can experience this amazing music all over again! 

GASLIGHTER is a journey into the heart of the Chicks’ adventurous spirit and musical artistry. This is a 7pc band featuring Juno Award winner Shannon Saunders on fiddle, mandolin & backing vocals, Tracy Em on lead vocals & acoustic guitar and Emily Ashcroft on guitar, banjo, dobro & backing vocals. They capture not only the look but also the attitude of The Chicks, delivering soaring harmonies and musical prowess that pay homage to the Natalie, Martie and Emily’s legacy.

Barney Bentall & The Legendary Hearts

About the artist: Prior to forming the Legendary Hearts in 1987, Barney Bentall was part of the emerging Vancouver new wave music scene of the early 1980’s. His band, Brandon Wolf, released two EPs (one on A&M records) as well as a full length album before reforming themselves into a 1960’s cover band called the Revengers. Playing biker dances, hayrides, funerals and strip clubs in order to afford discounted studio time at the now legendary Little Mountain Sound, the band worked with soon to be famous producer Bob Rock on the demos that would spur CBS records to sign Bentall to a recording contract as well as convincing Bernie Finkelstein (Bruce Cockburn, Murray McLauchlan) to manage him. The bands eponymous first record ‘Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts’ released in 1988 garnered the band a Juno Award and went on to sell over 100,000 copies (platinum).

NIGHT MOVES:  A remarkable recreation of the live performance of Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band from the 70s-80s based on the Live Bullet and Nine Tonight albums. If you are a Bob Seger fan this show will rock your world.  If you’re not a Seger fan, you WILL be when you witness this performance.

DEAD MAN’S TOWN: The vibe, energy and power of a Springsteen live show delivered by Brad Lovell! Take in the energy, the sweat, the smiles and of course, the songs that defined The Boss over the last five decades. Bruce Springsteen is part of the fabric of popular music providing the backdrop for the memories of millions. Come and relive some of yours.
