November 1 – 30, 2020, it’s Taste White Rock, White Rock’s premiere restaurant festival! Follow our social media pages for daily contests. Every week we’ll feature restaurants by district in White Rock –  West Beach, East Beach, Five Corners, and Uptown, each offering a special signature dish or drink. This is your chance to savour the best of what White Rock restaurants, cafes, and breweries have to offer!

3 Dogs Brewing is featuring their hot dogs, which are the famous Nathan’s all beef hot dogs, with additional gourmet options available including chilli cheese, blue buffalo and more, and their charcuterie board, which includes 3 rotating cheeses and 3 meats, alongside Chez Christophe flutes, and a variation of other crackers.

For Taste White Rock Bean Around the World are featuring a Blueberry scone with vanilla drizzle and a Pumpkin spice latte!

Bin 101 Wine & Tapas Bar is featuring Chicken satay: grilled free range chicken skewers marinated in coconut milk, cilantro & ginger, served with peanut sauce ($17), and Bruschetta: pesto, sun-dried tomato, cream cheese, goat cheese, gorgonzola cheese, chopped tomato, olives, basil, balsamic reduction, crispy baguette ($13).

It’s cold out! Warm up at Charlie Don’t Surf beside their fireplaces with a glass of Autumn Sangria ($10). Featuring brandy and a hint of cinnamon, this sangria will have you feeling warmer in no time :fallen_leaf:

For Taste White Rock, Cosmos Greek Restaurant will be featuring their Moussaka (seasoned ground beef, eggplant, potato slices layered and finished with béchamel, $24); Filet of salmon (steamed salmon filet, shrimps and white wine sauce, $27); Horiatiki (traditional Greek salad with crisp cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and feta drizzled with olive oil and balsamic, $11.95); Kleftiko (slow-roasted lamb shoulder, $27); and Chicken souvlaki (tender marinated cubes of meat grilled and served with Greek Salad, rice, roast potatoes and tzatziki, $23).

Crazy Cows Ice Cream’s Taste White Rock offering includes a Double Espresso; Home-baked Apple Pie; and Pumpkin Spice Gelato!

For Taste White Rock, FIVE Kitchen & Oyster Bar is offering a special three-course meal:

Lobster Bisque Cappuccino, Foam and Puff Pastry or Mediterranean Mezze Board (Labneh, Hummus, Tabouleh, Kibi and Pita Triangles); Coquille Saint Jacques (Scallops- Pernod Mornay, Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables) or Steak Au Poivre (Filet Mignon-Black Pepper Sauce with Roasted Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes) or Spicy Pappardelle (Fine Mushroom, Sundried Tomato Duxelles, Spinach, Cherry Tomato and Goat Cheese); and Chocolate Pots de Crème. This meal is $49 and comes with 20% off all bottles of wine! It’s available Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Grounds and Greens Café is featuring their Glow Up Bowl – packed with warming flavours like confit garlic, creamy hummus, and balsamic mushrooms, it’s the perfect bowl for a chilly fall day ($18), and their Greens Toastie – a slice of sourdough bread topped with pea & edamame hummus, tomato jam, avocado, crispy chickpeas, pickled red onions, fresh basil & tofu feta alongside their house salad ($14).

For Taste White Rock, Hillcrest Bakery & Deli is featuring their White Rock Clubhouse for only $10!

A traditional clubhouse with avocado and spinach served on your choice of fresh-baked bread. They suggest trying it with their Fergasa bread, a French bread made with cheddar cheese, garlic powder, hot sauce, and green onions!

Jan’s on the Beach is featuring their Applewood Smoked House Ribs – brushed with jalapeno bacon BBQ sauce, served with nugget potatoes and seasonal vegetables ($29). Ask your server about suggested wine or craft beer pairings from their excellent selection.

Laura’s Coffee Corner is featuring your choice of all-day Breakfast or Lunch for $11.95!

A Breakfast Wrap, Hash Browns, 12oz Drip Coffee, and Your Choice of Cookie – Or a Turkey Avocado Sandwich, Cup of Soup, 12oz Drip Coffee and Your Choice of Cookie.

The Ocean Beach’s Feature Drink is the Spiced Apple Mule – cinnamon infused stoli vodka, fresh pressed apple juice, lime, ginger beer; their Feature Food is the Red Wine and Apple Braised New Zealand Short Rib – wild BC mushroom risotto, beef demi, gremolata crust ($26).

Primo’s Mexican Grill is featuring two slow braised shredded beef barbacoa tacos dressed with corn salsa, onions, radish slivers, cilantro and cotija cheese. Served on white corn tortillas with a side of refried beans ($17.95). Enjoy it with your immediate household – be sure to inquire about take-out options if you’d prefer not to dine in.

Uli’s Restaurant has pan-seared Sturgeon served with house made kabocha squash in a cauliflower cream sauce with wilted swiss chard, crispy schinkenspeck and dill pearls ($46); their wine pairing suggestions is the 2018 Domaine de Roally, Vire Clesse – a fat, ripe and rich French Chardonnay with expressive aromas of peach, orange blossom and flowers ($79); their “S’more” dessert feature is a graham pound cake with marshmallow fluff and chocolate ganache ($10).

White Rock Beach Beer Co. will be featuring their Russell Avenue Raspberry Honey Wheat Ale, a refreshingly flavourful offering that has a slight tartness to start, and a smooth honey finish. They call it their take on a Radler. Enjoy a 20oz glass for 12oz ($6.05 tax included). (12 IBU, 4.5% ABV)

 

White Rock Burger Co. is featuring The Triple Booyah Burger – triple signature smash patties with American cheese, double smoked bacon, grilled Nathan’s all beef dog, onion rings, caramelized onions, pickled jalapeños, Co. sauce, ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles, potato roll ($17.95), and their Booyah Lager, brewed by Russell Brewing ($4.95/$3.99 during happy hour – Wednesday to Saturday 4 to 6pm)!

The Wooden Spoon Co. is featuring Nana’s House Stuff French Toast! It’s a thick brioche loaf, sweet egg wash, stuffed with coconut-nutella, bananas, and served with whipped cream, chocolate chips & salted caramel ($15.95)!

Zapoteca Mexican Grill & Seafood is featuring Camarones Enmolados – five jumbo tiger prawns sautéed in a chile pasilla marmalade over a pasilla chile risotto, base of pumpkin mole, pumpkin seeds hummus, and sesame seeds ($31), as well as Tlayuda con Mole – their homemade seasonal acorn squash mole, made with pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, dried chiles, over a handmade crispy corn tortilla, grilled portobello mushrooms, peppers, and onions, pumpkin humus, queso fresco, pickled onions, radishes, cilantro and sesame seeds ($21).
 
Drinks displayed are the Smoked Basil ($12), Grand Margarita ($12) and the Jamaica Classico ($12).
 
They have been focusing on their next generation of mole, in development for 3 years!
 
The dishes displayed are available on the dinner (4pm+) dine in menu – which you can enjoy with your immediate household ( be sure to inquire about take-out options if you’d prefer not to dine in). Zapoteca has recently installed infrared patio heaters, and can now accept automated reservations online/mobile through Google and their website.
